How Designetics Uses Testing to Approach New Projects

How do you get to be the premier provider of fluid applications systems and solutions? Testing, testing, testing.

There’s an old joke: how do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. In a similar vein, how do you get to be the premier provider of fluid applications systems and solutions? Testing, testing, testing.

Testing is a hallmark of the work Designetics does in ensuring industries like automotive, aerospace and electronics get the applicator tips, systems and fluid application processes they deserve. Clients oftentimes come to Designetics with an open-ended problem, seeking expertise in fluid application. By looking holistically at the client’s work and manufacturing process, Designetics personnel can better assist in solving fluid application issues or integrating the system seamlessly into their process.

That’s never more evident than Designetics’ approach to taking on new projects. When engaging with a client, the experts at Designetics outline goals and desired outcomes. Then, they address the problem itself, looking at existing products in Designetics’ vast inventory to see if there’s an off-the-shelf fit. If there isn’t, engineers will create new products, using rapid prototyping to develop the products and begin testing.

Designetics personnel will recreate a manufacturer’s assembly process at the Designetics headquarters, using the same substrates as a manufacturer would to test against the possible solution. Once testing exceeds expectations, the potential product is taken to the manufacturer, where additional testing is conducted in real-world, real-time environments. This best simulates how the product will be used, and ensures integration with the client’s manufacturing practices.

If product tweaking is required, the changes are made and the whole testing process is initiated again, in order to ensure a flawless result. So, like we said, the key to success is testing, testing, testing.
