Solar panel production includes two dispensing touchpoints that shape the quality of the finished module. The first is solder paste that’s applied during the assembly of photovoltaic cells and panels. The second touchpoint is protective sealant and encapsulant. Panels live outdoors for 25 years or longer, so they need dependable protection against moisture, dust and temperature change. - Electrolyte filling: Dispensing electrolyte into each cell is a critical step in cell production. Accurate fill volumes affect capacity, cycle life and safety, so the process demands tight control.
- Battery cell assembly: Sealants and adhesives close and protect cells during assembly, guarding against leaks and contamination while holding components in place.
How Fluid Dispensing Supports Wind Turbines
In wind energy, fluid dispensing is used primarily for structural bonding. Turbine blades can stretch well over 100 feet and must flex under wind load without cracking or delaminating. Adhesives join the blade shells and internal supports into a single structure strong enough to handle years of mechanical stress. The durability and consistency of those bonds influence how long a blade stays in service.
Sealants play a supporting role, protecting blades and nacelle components against rain, salt air, temperature fluctuations and UV exposure. If a turbine is located offshore or high on a tower, they can be costly to access and repair.
